The Accountant & Finance Specialist (Chinese Speaking) is responsible for managing the company’s accounting and financial activities, particularly for engineering and construction projects. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, cost control, tax compliance, and effective communication between local operations and Chinese management.
• Handle full set of accounts including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
• Manage project-based accounting for engineering and construction works, including cost tracking, progress billing, and revenue recognition
• Monitor project budgets, expenses, and cash flow to ensure financial control and profitability
• Prepare and submit tax declarations including VAT, withholding tax, profit tax, and other statutory requirements in compliance with Cambodian tax law
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and government authorities
• Support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Ensure compliance with Cambodian Accounting Standards (CAS), company policies, and internal controls
• Prepare financial reports and explanations for Chinese management and headquarters
• Translate and communicate financial and accounting matters between Chinese-speaking stakeholders and local teams
• Assist in improving accounting systems, financial processes, and internal controls
• Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned by management
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum 3–5 years of accounting and finance experience, preferably in engineering, construction, or project-based companies
• Strong knowledge of Cambodian accounting standards and tax regulations
• Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) for both spoken and written communication; English is required
Khmer is an advantage
• Experience working with Chinese-invested companies or reporting to Chinese management is highly preferred
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
High sense of responsibility, integrity, and confidentiality
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure (Our company does wastewater treatment plant engineering)
