Job Title: Senior Structural Design Engineer

Salary range: 500$-700$
Industrial: Construction and Engineering 
Location: Phnom Penh Cambodia
Report to: Project Manager / Construction Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Structural Design & Engineering

• Prepare and review structural design calculations for concrete and steel structures
• Develop structural drawings, specifications, and design reports in compliance with applicable codes and standards
• Ensure structural safety, efficiency, and constructability of designs

2. Design Review & Optimization

• Review consultant and subcontractor structural designs and shop drawings
• Optimize structural designs to achieve cost efficiency without compromising safety
• Provide technical solutions to design and site-related structural issues

3. Coordination & Project Support

• Coordinate with architectural, MEP, BIM, and QS teams to ensure design integration
• Support construction teams with technical clarifications, site inspections, and approvals
• Attend project meetings and design coordination meetings

4. Compliance & Quality Control

• Ensure all designs comply with local and international standards (ACI, BS, Eurocode, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with Cambodian construction regulations and project requirements
• Implement quality control procedures for structural design deliverables

5. Technical Leadership & Mentoring

• Guide and mentor junior structural engineers and drafters
• Review and approve structural drawings and calculations prepared by the team
• Support continuous improvement of engineering practices and standards

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain complete design documentation, calculation records, and approvals
• Provide technical reports and recommendations to management

Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in structural design engineering
• At least 2–3 years in a senior or lead structural engineer role
• Experience in residential, commercial, high-rise, or mixed-use projects is an advantage

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel structure design
• Proficient in structural design software
• Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit Structure is an advantage
• Good understanding of construction methods and site practices

• Excellent coordination and communication abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills

Language & IT Skills

• Good command of English; Khmer required
• Computer literate (MS Office, engineering software)
